Induced labour,
The pain, nothing like before
Felt like screaming
When they broke my water-
Manually;
More poking and probing,
Exposed, embarrassed and
Humiliating
I beg them to cut me up,
Anything but this pain.
After 12 hours of suffering
Arrives my young prince charming
End of re-birthing.
9 months later...
He is playing
Without warning
He starts convulsing
Thus begins our 9 year saga
To understand and deal
With the situation.
Today.....
He is cured,
He is a teen,
He is a rebel
Aren’t we just glad?

yes we are proud, glad to be a MOTHER :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sancheeta.

Deleteglad he is cured...and glad he is a rebel as well...we need teens that know what they want and what they're standing for... intense description of the giving birth as well...all the good and bad we're going through with our kids...
ReplyDeleteThanks Claudia.
DeleteWow...this is so powerfully written. The struggle, the healing and the rebel. Wow...thanks so much for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteOh wow! You think once you deliver them safely, then all is well. But so many things can go wrong. Thank goodness he has been healed.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I say frequently that it is amazing how few injuries and serious illnesses our children have suffered. On any day, so many things could go terribly wrong; each healthy and happy day is a blessing.
Thanks Rosemarymint.

DeleteYes, I am sure you are glad. It must have been a difficult 9 years...the teen years will be a 'piece of cake' in comparison most likely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary.
DeleteThis is so ... maternal ... and isn't it true? We can hardly believe how much it hurts to deliver them, then how worried we are that they're not going to make it, then - yes, rebellious or not, we are just sooooo glad.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI don't know if I could handle it. Well done Janaki
